After three seasons, the sketch was formed into a half-hour early evening show and turned into Fox's first arrangement to land in the Top 30 evaluations in a season (1989–1990). The shorts turned into a piece of The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. Groening made a broken family and named the characters after his own relatives, subbing Bart for his own name he thought Simpson was an amusing name in that it had 'simp' in it, which is another way to say 'dolt'. The family was brought about by Groening in no time before a requesting for a progression of vivified shorts with maker James L.
